I'm looking at Votex body kits (say what you want, they look awesome!) and I also want to do a dual exit rear exhaust. I know that it is possible by moving the tow bar location and mounting the exhaust hangar there but there is no normal dual exit lower valance.

What I am wondering is whether the normal MK6 GTI valance will fit on the Votex bumper.

Any help would be appreciated!

Try asking on Vortex possibly? I'm guessing somebody has done it before.

Only like 5 people worldwide have done dual exhausts on a Sportwagen/Golf Variant :'(

Also, a painted Votex kit is like almost $2k

I would just get the Optiwerks repro kit, but they ripped off most of their customers and the rear bumper doesn't have a removable valance...

Leave a good car alone. I have issues with mods, it is well known, but you might have to sell it one day.

Try the Cupra R front lip? I'm not sure if it'll fit your Sportwagen though.

Yes, But sometimes you can focus on the front of the car instead of the back. LOLIDEKAY.

Here's a thing.

All I know is (and I've been driving a long time) that if I were buying a used car off someone, I want it stock. If I change the sway bar, the wheels, the struts, the exhaust, then I did it. I trust myself to make changes that don't void the warranty or compromise the handling. And if I do, I'm to blame. So when I go into that hedge, I'm cursing myself.

I know about that, but it is like over $1k! I could probably get the kit from Keffer VW for around $1500... I could really use a new front bumper :P the current one is beat to shit (70 miles of highway driving per day for the past 4 years)

Same, I'd never buy a modified car. Especially a car that was brought back to stock condition after it's already been abused and had all the OEM shit crammed back into it.

I bought my A4 stock, and I did everything I did to it myself. If I were going to buy a Golf 3 door or something, I wouldn't touch it. Wheels maybe, But nothing else.

That is a danger - the seller stances the thing, does more modifications, then puts it stock again and sells it.

Chances are we will never move out of Manhattan, much less need a car. But if we do, a Volvo C30, or maybe a C70 (so I can see the look on her face when I put the top down) - she hates "open car." But I'll want them stock. No messing about.

And imagine putting the top down on a C70 three years after you bought it and showed it to her. Just fucking awesome.

Yup, I know a guy who had a heavily modified Passat. Threw it back to stock, and sold it far above KBB value because it had low miles on it. You could never tell it was modified.

If I lived in Manhattan, I'd buy a used Crown Vic taxi. That way I wouldn't be scared to street park and beat the hell out of it.

Crown Vic too big for the sig other - biggest thing she's driven is a Civic. Dad taught her to drive in Japan on his Nissan Bluebird, an early one. If she won't drive it, she won't take me to the hospital when I'm old and in need of repair. So I'm thinking C70 is max, C30 is optimal. And it has to be a slushbox - she refuses to learn stick. On the other hand, she's put up with me for going on 11 years, so she gets her way.

Haha, I'm guessing you're in Manhattan. But if I were in the Bronx, I'd drive whatever.

74th and Amsterdam, just off Broadway - the center of the universe. My car now is whatever Hertz has that's mildly interesting. But we're due a trip to la belle France late in the year, and I plan to rent the most unreliable Citroen they have. Then I shall write about it here. Mon dieu!

Great location! I'd have to have at least something to suit my driving needs, Haha.

Speaking of unreliable Citroens. Does a reliable one even exist?

I have never driven a Citroen. At this point, I do not care. I want the experience, and I do not want to drive some Pluriel, something that might get me back to the hotel. I want a French car. Might not get me there, but it wants to ....
